Flagship Facility Services and Square
TRAX configured over 230 locations across Square’s St. Louis corporate office without anyone setting foot on site. Flagship Facility Services installed 16 Bluetooth beacons and a set of QR codes, and the deployment was live.
Over 230 locations, configured remotely.
Square is a mobile payment company headquartered in San Francisco, building products for small businesses around the world. As Square grew, so did its operations and corporate space across the country. Square contracted Flagship Facility Services to manage janitorial operations at its St. Louis corporate office.
Flagship had already used Clean+Inspect successfully at other corporate client locations, which made the decision to bring it to Square straightforward.
TRAX configured the platform across more than 230 locations — kitchens, restrooms, conference rooms, micro-kitchens, offices and hallways — without a site visit. Flagship handled the physical install: 16 beacons for proximity data in restrooms and micro-kitchens, and QR codes for manual cleaning alerts at other touchpoints around the facility.
The Challenge
A corporate office is not one space with one cleaning standard. It is a few hundred small ones — kitchens, micro-kitchens, conference rooms, restrooms, offices, hallways — each used at different times by different people, and most of them impossible to schedule accurately because usage is unpredictable.
For Flagship, the practical question was how to stand up a system across more than 230 of those locations without a long on-site configuration project that would have delayed the account and added cost neither party wanted to carry.
The Solution
TRAX configured the platform for all 230-plus locations remotely. Nothing about the software setup required a technician in the building, which is what let the account go live on Flagship’s timeline rather than a deployment schedule.
Flagship installed the physical layer: 16 Bluetooth beacons providing proximity data in restrooms and micro-kitchens, and QR codes for manual cleaning alerts at the remaining touchpoints. The mix is deliberate. Beacons cover the spaces used constantly; QR codes cover the ones used occasionally, where a sensor would spend most of its life reporting nothing.
TRAX provides remote technical support and client success services to both Flagship and Square, to keep adoption and usage high across the staff. The point of the engagement is a corporate workspace that stays clean and hygienic for Square’s employees, run as efficiently as Flagship can run it.
What TRAX deployed
- Clean+Inspect configured across more than 230 locations — kitchens, restrooms, conference rooms, micro-kitchens, offices and hallways
- Full platform configuration completed remotely, with no site visit required
- 16 Bluetooth beacons for proximity data in restrooms and micro-kitchens, installed by Flagship
- QR codes for manual cleaning alerts at the remaining facility touchpoints
- Ongoing remote technical support from TRAX
- Ongoing client success support to Flagship and Square to sustain adoption
The Benefits
- More than 230 locations live without an on-site configuration project
- Hardware only where it earns its place — beacons in high-use spaces, QR codes everywhere else
- Manual cleaning alerts by QR code at the touchpoints where a sensor would spend most of its time reporting nothing
- One system covering the whole facility rather than restrooms alone
- Remote support that keeps the deployment running without a truck roll
The deployment has been running since January 2022 on a three-year contract, covering over 230 locations across Square’s St. Louis corporate office. TRAX continues to provide remote technical support and client success services to Flagship and Square.
