Mercedes-Benz Grapevine
Flagship had already proved Clean+Inspect at the Mercedes-Benz headquarters in Sandy Springs. Grapevine is what happened next: two more buildings, 26 beacons, and the same API feeding the same corporate dashboards.
The account that expanded because the first one worked.
Mercedes-Benz operates multi-story corporate office space across the country, and contracted Flagship Facility Services to manage its Grapevine locations. Flagship, an integrated facility management company, provides janitorial, maintenance and facility management services to MBUSA.
Flagship had previously deployed TRAX Clean+Inspect at the Mercedes-Benz headquarters in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Because of how that went in the eyes of both MBUSA and Flagship, it was extended to the Grapevine locations shortly afterwards.
TRAX provided the mobile app to support Flagship’s on-site teams managing janitorial operations in two buildings: the Learning and Performance Center and the Parts Distribution Center.
The Challenge
Two buildings with very little in common — a Learning and Performance Center and a Parts Distribution Center. Buildings that different are used differently, and one cleaning schedule applied across both is likely to be wrong in at least one of them.
There was also a continuity requirement. Mercedes-Benz IT was already receiving cleaning data from the Sandy Springs deployment through the TRAX API. Adding Grapevine could not mean adding a second data source that had to be reconciled with the first.
The Solution
TRAX provided 26 beacons to create passive proof-of-service data across the two buildings — when a frontline team member arrived, when they left, and how long the cleaning took. Nothing has to be logged by hand for that record to exist.
TRAX also provided QR codes for the areas Mercedes-Benz employees use frequently but unpredictably, such as conference rooms and shared desk space. An employee scans the code and a Flagship team member is alerted that the area has been used and needs service.
Rather than standing up a separate feed, TRAX updated the existing API of cleaning data to include the Grapevine locations. Mercedes-Benz IT sees the new buildings in the same corporate-wide dashboards it was already using.
What TRAX deployed
- Clean+Inspect across two buildings — the Learning and Performance Center and the Parts Distribution Center
- 26 beacons providing passive proof-of-service data: arrival, departure and cleaning duration
- QR code cleaning alerts in conference rooms and shared desk space
- Employee-triggered service requests by scanning a QR code on their own device
- An update to the existing TRAX API to include the Grapevine locations
- Cleaning data delivered into Mercedes-Benz's existing corporate-wide dashboards
The Benefits
- A second site added on the strength of the first, with no new evaluation cycle
- Proof of service captured passively across both buildings — arrival, departure and duration
- Service that follows real use in shared spaces, rather than a schedule that has to guess
- One API and one set of dashboards for the client's IT team, not a second data source to reconcile
- A rollout pattern Flagship can repeat at the next Mercedes-Benz location
The Grapevine deployment began in December 2021 on a three-year contract, covering the Learning and Performance Center and the Parts Distribution Center. It followed the Sandy Springs headquarters deployment, and the cleaning data flows into the same Mercedes-Benz corporate dashboards through the updated TRAX API.
